Metzeler tire report

The Metzeler ME880 tires are on my Savage now. What a difference! When I tried the bike with the new tires on the dealer's gently sloping lot, I scraped a peg on the first turn. Later, negotiating the twisties in the country, I realized what the difference is: with the stock tires, I'd learned to compensate for some lateral force that isn't there with the new tires, so I lean with more confidence now. The Savage leans beautifully with the new tires and feels quite solid in the turns; no more wobbling. The Metzelers stick like glue, at least on dry surfaces. (I haven't ridden them in the rain yet.) Although it's been cold here, I rode the bike for hours on both Saturday and Sunday. With the Metzelers providing great handling and the re-packed SuperTrapp providing improved torque and sound (see previous post), I didn't want to stop.
